Can anyone decipher this occupation for John Perry b 1796, taken from the 1841 UK CENSUS ? Thankyou in advance for you help.

Key Filer maybe.

I think it is Inge filer (= Hinge, with dropped H). There are plenty of Hinge Filers in this area in 1851 (which is easier to search by occupation).

This is probably daughter Elizabeth's birth

Maybe try finding a baptism? may have father's occupation.

If I have the right bapt for Martha age 12 in 1841 he is a Hinge Filer on that.
