Hi
I have a Joseph JAMIESON who was buried in Low Hill Cemetery in Aug 1885.
The burial register shows
Death: 20 Aug 1885
Burial: 23 Aug 1885
Running No: 46353
Grave No: 4339
I understand this is now a public garden (since 1914) but also read an article which said in part...
"While the headstones were removed, the inscriptions for each of them were transcribed and are available at the Liverpool Record Office."
Does anyone have access to these or can they be accessed online?
I am not certain he had a headstone but is one of the few on the burial register page with a stated occupation of "Publican"...if that makes a difference!
Thanks for any help

Family Search have the following for The Necropolis Low Hill:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/420956?availability=Family%20History%20Library
You need to be signed into FS (creating an account is free) to use the site.
Any line that has a camera icon means images are available. Click on the camera and you'd need to page through to see if there is an entry. (Could take a long while as sadly the index seems to be the only film not yet digitised but they do seem to split into years so hopefully you can at least get to the relevant year)
EDIT
I had another look and handily its by grave number so was simple to find

Can you confirm it was 1885 as there is no death showing on the GRO index. There is one in 1855 on freebmd & he was aged 55 at death

The 1851 census shows him as a licensed victualler b 1800 Hull

The details in the initial post come from the burial register.
Also have the following:
Name Joseph Jamieson
Registration Year 1855
Registration Quarter Jul-Aug-Sep
Inferred County Lancashire
Volume 8b

This is the image of that burial register entry on Family Search

Its definitely 1855, aged 55 same grave info and date etc but not 1885
ADDED:
and the entry in the burial order book says 1855, aged 55 too and also gives the cause of death as apoplexy

Sorry for the confusion over the year.
I will check my posting more carefully next time.
Thanks for a good outcome to my question though

Please don't misunderstand, we weren't criticising, just trying to make sure you got the right info.
We 'all' make typos now and then, but as long as we end up with the correct info in the end and it all adds up, that's the aim of the game :-)
and thank you, until I looked I wasn't aware that those MIs were on FS, am off to check to see if any of mine are in the Necropolis and see if there are any MIs for them!
