Has anyone knowing of the price deals that are available on Ancestry at present?
I'm soon to be going to/into hospital for treatment.
My Annual agreement expired recently. I would like to know if anyone knows if there are any better deals of Ancestry than to what they are offering on the Ancestry site.?
Their six monthly deal of £54 plus seems good at present, but has anyone knowledge of a better deal. Or would it be better to wait nearer to the time that they release the 1921 Census. Any info much appreciated.
Regards JUST J

It'll be a while before Ancestry have the 1921 census as FindMyPast have exclusive right for a period of time.
There's several threads on here about half price Ancestry subs.

Using it via your library card, if you can is the cheapest option at the moment. When that finishes, in March I believe, I will probably go to FindMyPast for a while.

Someone messaged me last week to confirm that this offer is still available and it worked for them

Yes that one definitely still works and is probably the best one you'll get.
Hope all goes well with the treatment.

Hi Sandra, I purchased that same deal in Feb. last year and it's not long expired. I was hoping it would still be available for this year and your info has confirmed this for me. I'm possibly not going to renew until when the 1921 Census is released or I may hold back until how I am after treatment. With fingerers crossed I just hope the deal will still be available then.
Thanks again for the info, Best Regards Just J

That deal has been running for at least four years, so hopefully will continue. As said earlier though, the 1921 won't be available for some time ( 5 years has been mentioned) on Ancestry, you'll need Find My Past for that.

Wishing you all the very best and hope the treatment goes well. Let us know how you get on. :)
Fingers crossed you get the same deal at a suitable time :)
Did read somewhere a little while ago that 1921 census would be published in 2022. Think it was find my past who had got the contract. Will add if I find the info again.
Take Care
Stay Safe

The link that Sandra posted is for "6 months, not 1 year", so they are now charging £199.98 per year for Worldwide.

4 times I looked at the advert posted. I have just looked again, and it has changed back to "Worldwide
£179.99 £89.99* 12 month membership". I noticed on other forums that individuals were also seeing the "6 month" option and NOT the 12 month one. Ancestry playing with the membership.

No it's still £89.99 Worldwide for a year. I'm Admin on a large FB genealogy group and people use this everyday. It only works if your old subscription has expired completely, before that it shows as 6 months.

Hopefully will still be on offer next month when my membership expires been lucky the last few years ;)

Thanks Malky
Last year in Feb I paid the lower price for one year.
This year being a census release year can only be one of "some reason/s" why they have more than doubled the price from last year and they will not lower until they decide when they think it's "necessary".
I am not a person who will be paying over double for something that I paid half the price for the previous year, as much as I would like to have access to the 1921 Census.
I can wait and see if a better deal comes up before the release.
Invalidity I suffer with, and with that sort of an increase going on from the previous year is by far too much for me to cover. I may have to settle for at least a one month's contract if nothing else appears Regards Just J

You can do it within an hour of the old one expiring. Make sure that you cancelled auto renew in time and that you have received an e-mail confirming this. Log in to Ancestry using your email and user name. Then use the link, if it shows 6 months refresh the browser and it should change to the 12 months. People say that it works better on a laptop than a tablet or phone.

I have been accessing Ancestry Library Edition with my public library card for past 12mths. Very useful it has been too even tho not full Ancestry. Did someone say it will be ending soon? Better get on with more look ups then ;D
