I wondered if someone could look up any Withington Workhouse records for me for an ancestor who died there. His name was James Taylor Christened 1/4/1812 and died 16/6/1873. I'm not sure what workhouse records can be accessed but any information would be amazing. He may well have been there for a while as he may have been an alcoholic or mentally vulnerable. Where might he be buried as I cannot find a record in Southern Cemetery. Thank you.

One of the images on FindMyPast says that he was from Ardwick and is buried in Ardwick Cemetery - died 17 June 1873, aged 63. Another version says he is 64.

Hi BumbleB, thank you for that.
The rest of the family did live in Ardwick but had moved away by the 1850/60's. His death date I found from probate records which said he died at the Withington Workhouse but they could be wrong as the entry was 20 years after his death. There are sadly a few James Taylors in Ardwick but that death date is pretty close.
Thank you for your time.

And then there is third image - Rusholme Road
Grave No: 5891
James Hutton, aged 56 - 18 August 1851
Ann Hutton, aged 52 - 11 March 1847 = wife
James Taylor, born 29 February 1812 - 19 June 1873

Thank you Bumble B. At a guess the Ardwick one is most likely as his sister was buried there even though she lived in Whitefield.
