Hello
I am located in Canada and I am trying to locate someone who would be willing to lookup the Kirk Session records for Auchterless or Forgue. The record would be for a Christian Sim, who had a son named John William Gordon, born 10th Oct 1826 in Forgue or Auchterless. The father is listed as John William Gordon. I am trying to find out more information about the father and his family.
Thank you all.
Marc

Unfortunately it's impossible to look things up at the moment because all the places where they are normally available are still closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However rumour hath it that it may not be all that long now before the Kirk Session records become available for online research.

Scotlands people kirk sessions Forgue Kirk session does not cover 1826. (1781-1807) (1854-1891) are the closest. Auchterless kirk session (1789-1826) has an entry 16th April 1826 (image no 222) Gordon and Sim but is very hard for me to read

This is what I can make out but my eyes are not good at the moment:
It was reported to the Session that John Gordon had ? and for the ? ? and Christian Sim was seriously ? led to reparation and absolved

Thank you for looking up this information. Amazing. However, John Gordon appears to still be elusive and perhaps a dead-end. Hopefully I will be able to discover where or when he was born. I don't think I'll be able to trace in in the West Indies. Does anyone have any tips or ways of doing this?
Thank you all.
