I have posted on this family before and receive excellent help so hopefully this time will be the same. Egerton Adams was baptised 17 May 1733 in St Mary Uttoxeter. Father given as Joseph and mother Elisabeth. The only marriage that seems a fit is that of Joseph and Elisabeth Painter 4 Dec 1718. They were resident at Marchington and marrried by License at Hamstell Ridware (presumably because the churh at Marchington didn't exist until 1742). Elisabeth seems to be a Hanbury girl born 29 Nov 1695. Other children appear to be Dorothy 3/4/1720, Joseph 3/12/1725 Checkley, Mary 29 Mar 1725 Darlaston and Hannah 14/8/1727 Darlaston. It looks like they were still in Darlaston in 1749 when Mary married from there. Darlaston is close to Walsall. The distances involved are quite considerable. Is it likely the family will have travelled from Checkley to Darlaston for work perhaps but then go to Uttoxeter to register Egerton or perhaps there is another similarly named family? I have yet to find a suitable birth for Joseph.
