Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has these two in there tree, I'm trying to work out who Harriets parents may be.
They had children together from 1855 until a bout 1870.around the Gloucester area. I think Harriets dad maybe William Davis . Henry was son of abel Ryal.
-
No details of birthyears or birthplaces given for either Henry or Harriet
No names, birthplaces for any of the children
Your subject header shows surname as Ryles but you refer to his father as Abel Ryal - so what was the correct surname?
Have you found their marriage on freebmd?

Marriage certificate?
Where did the possibility of her father being William come from?
-
Is this anything to do with it?
1861 Pauntley Glos
Henry Rail 40 basket maker
Harriett 30
Byram 7
Walter 5
John 1
Christopher 1
-
That looks the right family as birth registrations for the two youngest boys (twins) have mothers name Davis.
Surname is Ryles on the registration.
-
brother Byram registered as Biram Royle march qtr 1854 Malmesbury mmn Davis
Possible marriage for him in 1876 at Newent as Byron Royles
Death reg in Gloucester in 1938 as Byron Royles
-
Ah Biram - I couldn't find his registration nor the one for Walter.
So many variations of this surname.

1861 shows Harriet b Monmouthshire 1831
1841 has a Harriet DaviEs aged 10 in Usk. Parents Charles & Elizabeth. Charles was an agricultural labourer. I deliberately haven't posted full details so as not to confuse matters if it's the wrong entry
If a marriage can be found for Henry & Harriet then her fathers name can be established.
-
Another child baptised 25 Sept 1864 Oxenhall Glos, Hezekiah Ryal son of Henry & Harriet.
Death reg Ezekiah Ryall 9 march qtr 1874 Newent
That's a big if, finding the marriage.

1901 census has a group of Ryalls living in caravans on Painswick Hill RG13/2435 folio 90 pg 8, no places of birth given, looks like ages are estimates, written on later.

Harriet is said to have a sister Mary who married a Burton, I have seen that marriage and it has William as fathers name. that has come from another family tree buff so no proof as such that it is Harriets sister
-
I see thanks, what occupation was listed for William and do you have the witness names to see if we can find a link?
