Hmmm a poser ... maybe W or C D***man or Bateman? Are there any electoral rolls for the year? Obituaries in a newspaper for the deceased?

Yes I saw Bateman too, doesn't mean it's right though  ;D

Can you not work out who the daughter was and find her marriage?

From Josey's suggestion, there is a 1947 marriage for an Annie Crawford and a William Robert Bateman in Hillhead?

I'd say Bateman - but surely it's not a marriage cert!

Do you know the names of any daughters of Peter & Mary Ann (Crawford) Merry apart from Lizzie (Elizabeth) who is with them in 1911?

There's a marriage for an Elizabeth Merry to a William Brown 1933 Coatbridge

MERRY ELIZABETH / BROWN WILLIAM 1933 - 652/2 215 Coatbridge or Old Monkland

although the surname on the signature on the DC looks rather stretched to be Brown, however...

1940 VRs (Valuation Rolls) have a William Brown at 17 Arkleston Crescent, Paisley...

BROWN WILLIAM Proprietor Occupier
HOUSE AND GARDEN 17 ARKLESTON CRESCENT CARDONALD PAISLEY
1940
VR011400118-

I think Monica's suggestion is well worth looking at as the surname looks more like Bateman than Brown...

1947 marriage for an Annie Crawford and a William Robert Bateman in Hillhead?

Could Annie be a daughter of Mary Ann Crawford prior to her marriage to Peter Merry & possibly living with her sister & brother-in-law at the time of their mothers' death & her husband Wm Bateman registered the death?

Hi Rosinish
No I don't know any of Peter & Mary Ann Crawford children .... Just my family never made it easy for me I get some of the names mix up
I do hope this makes sense
Peter Merry born 1863 Parents was Peter Merry 1831 MaryAnn Allan after Peter died she married a Robert Crawford that had a daughter Mary Ann Crawford she was born in Guernsey Channel Islands married Peter Merry (son of Peter Merry  and Mary Ann Allan)
I do hope that makes sense.

Can you tell us what more you're aiming to achieve in your research as I think we've put a few suggestions forward for investigation into your initial query which can be followed up to find out whether any of it is relevant & possibly answer the question as I see no other way for now.

There's no limitation on the amount of help for anyone but it's good to know what we're looking for i.e. you need to tell us what other info. you'd like to find out?

The info. posted seemed relevant as the names & address were the same as on the image you posted & both marriages looked promising?

I didn't realise the help I receive was limited

Can you clarify the meaning of the above please as it doesn't make sense in the context it's written?

Were any of the leads we've given helped to confirm the name in your query?

It's always good to get feedback.

Annie
