Title: Sutton In Ashfield Old Model Prize Band.
Post by: prozac on Friday 05 February 21 13:52 GMT (UK)
Hi.

My ancestor, Redfern Scott, (1842) was a conductor for this brass band for a long while in the late 1800s, he was also a school caretaker (would love to know which school)

I've  been able to find him mentioned in loads  of newspaper articles,  but I was hoping to find a photo of the brass band.  I've googled but I'm not sure where else to try.  Can anyone suggest where I might be able to contact or query?

His brother was also a local musician, Charles Scott.

....and some old photos of Sutton http://www.dawgates.co.uk/album/sutton.htm Sutton was my closest town for about 20 yrs when I lived in Nottinghamshire decades ago and where I food shopped ( and worked), so it was nice to see 'some' of the old buildings again
