I can find an entry for Sophia Brown in the 1871 Census living with her husband and children in Clarke Durham Ontario. She is 40 yrs old and from Ireland.
Could someone check the next census to see where they are?
Thank you

Thank you. Yes it's Sophia with Andrew that I am interested in.
Would there be any documentation that would have asked for her maiden name?

Death record for son John James Brown in 1937 says his parents were Andrew Brown and Sophia Waller.
He is also buried in Bethesda Cemetery, Durham
http://geneofun.on.ca/names/photo/2637290
Also death of Sarah Brown Pointon in 1924 says her father is Andrew Brown and mother's maiden name is Waller. According to the death record, Sarah is also buried in the Bethesda Cemetery. (see death record on familysearch).

Marriage of Ida Selina Brown to Samuel Wright in 1898, Durham Ontario....parents Andrew and Sophia Brown. Ida Selina born about 1871 in Darlington, Durham. Confirms that the census records are for the same family (daughter Ida listed as Selina on 1881 census posted by susano)
She died in 1955. Ida Selina and Samuel are buried in Belleville, ON

Unfortunately, Charlotte Brown's marriage to George Glenny in Bowmanville in 1881 doesn't mention Sophia's maiden name. Parents Andrew and Sophia Brown.
But her death record from 1936 does. Charlotte Matilda Glenny - parents were Andrew Brown and Sophia Waller. Also confirms that the names Charlotte and Matilda - seen on the 1871 and 1881 censuses - are the same person. She died in Toronto - buried in Prospect Cemetery.

You can find the marriage and death records on familysearch - for free :)

Still looking for Sophia Waller Brown's own death record. Findagrave says she died in 1887, but nothing is coming up on familysearch.

Thank you very much for this.
Sophia married Andrew Brown in Knockbride Cavan in 1850.
Although her father is Thomas,he is not the Thomas Waller who married Margaret Tate.
Sophia was from Drumhillagh where there were Waller families living in that area for a long time.
