Hi Nathaniel -- firstly I am just writing to let you know of 2 great free sites for Lancashire.

http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/

This is completed by volunteers and gives the basic details of births, marriages and deaths in the various districts.

https://www.lan-opc.org.uk/

This site contains thousands of actual parish registers (transcribed from the church records. )
Always give these sites a 'go' for your Lancashire ancestors.

There are also Lancashire Parish records on Ancestry;
Go to Card Catalogue
Type in Lancashire baptisms - or marriages - or burials -- and you will be able to search for what you seek.

By the way in Civil Records Oswaldtwistle came under Blackburn Registration District (as did Church) - whilst Accrington came under Haslingden.

(On Lancs BMD though - if you select a District for ancestors from these places - choose Hyndburn!!)

There is a birth registration - June quarter 1914 - Haslingden - for George Hamer, mother's maiden name of Eglin - from FreeBMD

There is an entry for George, Gertrude, Ronald plus one redacted entry in the 1939 Register, living in Oswaldtwistle.

If you check Lancashire BMD -- there are 2 entries for George's birth - looks like he was born in Accrington.

The 2 entries show 2 names for his mother's maiden name - Eglin and Cross -- so his mother had been married twice.

Now find a marriage for a male Hamer marrying a female Cross or a female Eglin (as we don't know her actual maiden name - whether it was Cross or Eglin!)

To be on the safe side you should really obtain George's birth certificate.

You can order this on line as a PDF copy from the General Register office - it is cheaper than ordering a paper certificate.

https://www.gov.uk/general-register-office

You will firstly need to register if you haven't used the site before.
Then 'Search the GRO Indexes' using George's name and birth year - with the Registration District shown as Haslingden.

When you see the correct result, just click the box and complete the order form. It usually takes about a week - but may be slighly longer at the moment. You will receive an email notification when it is ready to view.

This Register shows Eglin as his mother's maiden name -- but with the info from Lancs BMD it looks like she may have married before to a Cross. Hence she will have married as 'Cross'.

There is a marriage on Lancs BMD of a William Henry Hamer to a Mary Emma Cross in 1912 in Hyndburn -- on the Civil Registration Index it is Haslingden Reg District. It was a Registrar attended wedding.

Hence these 2 MAY be George's parents - but it would be safer to obtain his birth cert.

Unfortunately the marriage and his birth occurred after the 1911 census - so there is no census information to back this up.
