Is it the Edward who was baptised 20th April 1778 in Weston Rhyn or his father, Edward, that you are looking for?

Sadley , neither. My Edward would have been born c1740s? problem is I have no idea where. I have his will from 1797 when he died and his wife ne calls Eleanor. Prior to going to Shrophire c 1778 he worked in a paper Mill in Northumberland from 1770 to about 1778. four years later he purchased a paper Mill in Weston Rhyn together with a couple more mills and properties.
All I know about him is that he had two daughters bap in Northumberland in 1772 and 1774. I have never found his marriage as I don't know his wifes maiden name. Nor do I know when exactly or where he was born. Could have been anywhere in the country. THere are a couple of Elinors/ Eleanors who married Edward Green's in Shropshire but none of them are the corect people. Thank you so much for your reply. I was just hoping that maybe he hd relatives in Shropshire which might have been the reason for him going there after Northumberland. This myster has ben ongoing for years. How can someone just disappear into thin air and leave no traces. I must have missed something somewhere.

Is this your Eleanor's burial?
17 Jan 1802 Eleanor Green, Paper Mills, Weston Rhyn
There's also another Eleanor Green who is recorded as of Ifton (the other side of the St Martins parish) on 19 April 1812
(While looking for your family, I think I might have found one of my wayward ancestors :) )

I'm not sure that you have this and from what you say, this is a little late but they are of the Weston Rhyn Tything,
Marriage
St Martins (Weston Rhyn )
Marriage by Banns 25th Nov 1776
Edward Green to Elinor Blundale
One of the witnesses was a John Green
I've not found anything else on Elinor so far.

Hello
I have stumbled on this thread by a Google search. I am descended from the Green family from St Martins in Shropshire. My 2 x Great grandmother was Mary Green who married John Johns and had a son Edward (Ned) Jones who was a miner near St Martins, Oswestry Shropshire.
I have recently had my DNA done for Ancestry. The results threw up a lot of DNA matches to people in Utah USA who have the surname "Green" in their trees. I am trying to find the link between my great great grandmother and Samual Green from Cloveley in Shropshire. He emergrated to USA and is well known in Mormon community.
Any ideas please?

Hello
Welcome to the forum.
Have you got a few dates for your 2x grandmother.
I can see Samuel Green was born 1831 in Claverley and his parenst were William Green and Mary Bennett.
William Green bapt 5.2.1809 in Penn s of John Green and Sarah nee Meredith from Claverley.
John 1756-27.6.1813
Sarah 1766-4.4.1830.
I think his parents were John Green husbandman and Esther York married at Wombourne by licence 18.3.1754 .
But I can't find your family so I can't see how they fit in.
Just a date of birth or marriage for Mary Green would be great .Sorry but it's just so common a surname.
Happy to help if you give us a little more detail

Hello, thank you for your response. My 2 x Great grandmother, Mary Green was born in St Martins, near Oswestry in Shropshire in 1844. She married John Jones in 1874 (in Oswestry). They had a son Edward Jones in 1874. Edward had a daughter, Mary (my Grandmother) in 1905 (still in St Martins)
All very common names unfortunately
Thanks
Lynn
