I was wondering where the Eastwall of Cheadle would be from the 1841 census?
I can find an Eastwall farm that is near the river Churnet. Since most people in this area of the census appear to boatsman, I wondered if the Churnet would be the river they were working on?
Thank you in advance for your time

Eastwall is shown on this map, North East of Cheadle towards Oakmoor.

Some more information here in case you haven't already seen it.
East Wall Farmhouse
"The farm lies on the boundary of the parishes of Cheadle and Oakamoor and is not shown on the relevant Tithe Map of 1843. The site was apparently then occupied by a number of cottages"

Thank you
I will look into both of your suggestions

Hello,
The canal cottages were owned by a local coal master called John Leigh who operated mines around Cheadle. The coal was trammed to the Uttoxeter Canal at East Wall, which I guess is where your boatmen came in. The canal was not a success, opened in 1811 but closed in 1849, after which the cottages were demolished and the farmhouse was built.
