Hello, This query is in connection with a subject I have posted in the lighter side board previously.

Can anyone help with details of the Stephens youth who downed In the Avon, near Bredon, alongside Thomas Wagstaff and Daniel Trap in May 1835?

Charles Stephens aged 23, found drowned, buried 25 May 1835 at Alderton , Gloucestershire.
Source _ Gloucestershire England, Church of England Burials 1813-1988, images available on Ancestry.
( Alderton is about 7 miles from Bredon. )

In 1841 there is a Thomas STEPHENS aged 50 living in Alderton who is a blacksmith.

I wonder if you, or anyone else, would be kind enough to find out if there is a familial connection between Charles Stephens and Cornelius Stephens who is mentioned in my original post?

I’ve found a Cornelius Stephens in an 1871 census who is recorded to have been born 1813 in Alderton. So perhaps a brother/cousin of the drowned Charles Stephens. The search goes on....
Edit found a baptism of a Cornelius Stephens in Alderton 7th March 1813 parents Micheal and Elizabeth Stephens. So likely cousins.
