Title: Can I download my DNA matches?
Post by: Romilly on Wednesday 16 December 20 14:53 GMT (UK)

I might be missing something obvious here, but does anyone know, - I want to download my close DNA matches to send via email.

I don’t mean my ‘raw’ DNA File, - I just mean my 290 4th Cousins or closer matches.

Cheers, Romilly.

I don't think you can unless you do a screen grab or a copy.

Thanks Gadget, that’s what I thought, but it was worth a try!

I think I did it once or twice when I was helping a friend. I's a bit boring  ::)

I went through taking screenshots, and then gave up:-(

I don’t know why they can’t make it a bit more User-friendly!

I've found it more useful to select each  colour coded group and do a copy and paste for them. Filing them separately.

On your main list of matches - go to Shared DNA > select Close Matches > then Apply.

Then from this new list scroll to the very bottom.

Then select all text (Ctrl+A), copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) it to your email or text doc.

That's about all you can do.

I'm not a DNA kind of guy.  But there appears to be several methods.

Google "Can I download my Ancestry DNA matches"

I don’t need to Don, - kind people on here have already explained how it’s done.
That’s just one of the nice things about this Site.

The quickest way I have found is to capture a scrolling window using my browser. I use firefox but I think other browsers have the same facility. It screen grabs the whole window not just the visible part. It won't work for your full match list as it is probably too long but should be okay for groups.
