Title: Hailes Church, Gloucestershire
Post by: mookp1892 on Monday 14 December 20 17:19 GMT (UK)
As I understand, Hailes Church (chapelry in the parish of Didbrook) was built in the 1100s, but from various online sources, registers only begin in 1814. Would baptisms and marriages have taken place there from the 1100s without being recorded until 1814? Or were baptisms and marriages performed at St George's, Didbrook?
Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks.

The following link may explain lack of registers:

Looks an interesting old Norman church, lots of medieval wall paintings.
