Where was your Mary born please?
Do you have her on census with father William and what was his occupation?
-

-
5 children before 1911

-
Did you buy a copy of the marriage cert to get her fathers name as William? What was his occupation?
Have you found her on earlier censuses before she married Henry?
-
The 1897 marriage is online and has father William a hawker
Grooms father Robert also a hawker
Having trouble finding her pre marriage though :-\
-
Mary Matilda Manley born 1899 - mmn Pateman??
-
Oh didn't check that one, just Caroline which did have Stokes :-\
Mary Ann and Henry (William Henry) seem to have mothers name Dixon :-X
Leonard has Stokes so quite a mixed bag to sort out there.
Maybe mother is under one of those other surnames pre marriage?

Not getting very far.
There are two baptisms for Charlotte Pateman. The one already mentioned - April 11th 1897, Long Sutton and one earlier, 31st March 1897 , the parish of Mark, Somerset where Sarah is described as a widow and a Gypsy.

Chester, Charles Manley (1913) married Beryl Symes in 1936 Calcutta, Bengal India. He married under the name William Charley Manley. Beryl appears with 2 children on 1939 register. Where her daughter "A" was born don't know but 4 other children born between 1938-1948 with mmn Symes.
