Baptism record shows "Delivered to the court"
What does this mean? TIA
-
Where and when did the baptism take place?
-
Thanks for responding.
Baptism at Ashwicken with Leziate parish, Norfolk, England during 1777.
There seems to be a few with this phrase on record.
-
It doesn’t relate to any individual baptism, but marks the point at which the register was handed in for inspection by officials of the church court, e.g. during a visitation.
