I have a Charles Thornton married to Hetty Mann born 1912. She married him in 1938 I have found Hetty on the 1939c but not with Charles I cannot find any other information on him? Can anyone help please.

Was he called up for WW1

The 1939 National Register did not include those called up for WW2.
It was originally set up for the purposes of Identity Cards, and Ration Books.
Those in the Forces had their own ID cards.

She seems to have been widowed when she died in Suffolk in 2006.
A couple of death possibilities for Charles in Enfield?

I couldn't see either of them in 1939 using those birth dates, LM.
Nor any probate.
Might be one of them (or neither!)

I do believe we have seen this subject before, possibly going back to 2013?

It doesn't look like much has changed since! Getting the marriage cert seems to be the only way of knowing.

Yes John, I am sure investing in a marriage cert would be a good idea

Think Hetty might be on 1939, no Charles but living with other family members
