Hi guys,
Looking for help with trying to find out about my great grandfather who was a medic in WW1. He was born in 1885 in leith Edinburgh. I have a photo of him in France in March 1916 but cannot find anything about his service in the war.
Please help.

Over 60% of WW1 service records were burnt during the WW2 blitz. Those that survived are on the subscription sites such as Ancestry/FindMyPast
There are several David M Henderson entries on the Medal Roll Index but without knowing either his service number or regiment it's difficult to determine the right entry

If you post an image of the photograph there are many knowledgeable Rootschatters who may be able to identify the regiment or corps. Then it may be possible to find a Medal Index Card with more information.
As CaroleW has written many Great War service records were burnt, so it might not be possible to find precise details of when and where he served.

Hi Guys,
My great grandfather David Munro Herderson served in the Royal Army Medical Corps service number 46072.
I do not know much else about his service apart from a photo of him somewhere in France in March 1916, would be great to find out what medals he received.
Any info you could provide will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Per your other post he was 46072 in RAMC. Hospitalised at No 3 Casualty Clearing Station with Trench Fever (PUO = Pyrexia of Unknown Origin) in December 1917: https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=S2%2FGBM%2FMH106%2FMH106-352%2F0008&parentid=GBM%2FMH106%2F263995
