Title: Death certificate 1966

I’m hoping to get more information on Alice Thomson who was born in 11/03/1912, she died in 1966 In Amounderness. I am on ancestry and there is the death index but would I be able to get a copy of this? I have tried the .gov website and you can’t request certificates from the year?

I'm sure can order death certificates for the year - you will need to know the reference information

eg Surname, Forename, Year, Quarter, District Name, Volume Number and Page Number

I suspect you are looking on the actual GRO Index.

Instead of that you will need to complete the normal certificate application form and may have to pay for a paper copy.

As you say -- the year you want isn't coming up on the Index yet - so just get the ref details from Ancestry (as suggested by durhamgirl).

It would have helped to have her married name.  Is this Alice?

You appear to be able to order the certificate online via www.lancashirebmd.org.uk

The website gives the sub district as Penwortham, is that where you would expect the death to be?
