It's probably best to add some details to give people a place to begin as I think their 1st question will probably be to ask who else if Freda isn't in their tree (yet)?

I saw her name on another site but as I was not a member, I was unable to make contact and just wondered if she was on here so we could compare notes. No point i filling up this site with information for nobody to read?? Some of my present day Cummings are around the world - where are you?

One thing you could do is to click on "SEARCH" in the brown bar near the top of the page and enter Cumming in the search box. That will bring up all the previous Cumming posts and you might find something useful amongst them.

Hi Tom,
My family were on the Islands of Eriskay/South Uist, Inverness-shire, Scotland with pob (place of birth) given as South Uist.
I have John Cummin/g/s b (from census' & death) anywhere between 1770 & 1786!
His father was (from his DC) Ewen Cumming, mother Sarah (maiden name unknown), informant was a grandson.
I have no siblings for John i.e. sitting on a drystane dyke :)

None of those name match my records - but thanks for the reply. My Cumming came from farming Stock in Aberdeenshire.
