Post by: Chiad Fhear on Thursday 05 November 20 14:34 GMT (UK)
Hi RootsChatters

Can anyone decipher the attached entry on an 1863 Parish of Falkland, Fife, Register of Births for me please?

My thoughts are: "1863 June Fourteenth (time isn't relevant) Mid Couland"

Looks like Mid Couland?

Can you post an expanded image with more writing for comparison please?

I think Couland is correct...

1868 - https://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/archive/86555610?mode=transcription

"Coulands : Falkland, Ladybank : David Birrell"

Thanks all

Mid Couland was my thought initially.  You've confirmed it for me.
