I don’t have a lot to go on I know he was Roman Catholic and he was possibly from the Dundalk area. His daughter Mary married a Dominick McGrane in 1923 and her father’s occupation is listed as labourer I’ll try to get more details

Hi there, just posting the 1923 civil marriage registration below for the convenience of folk reading your topic :) :

Do you have any other information to corroborate that Mary's father was from the Dundalk area (other than the fact that Mary was living there at the time of her marriage)?
Also, when you say 'Mary McEvoy born 1902-1903'... is that a guess of age at the lower end of the scale, based on her description of 'full' age at the time of her marriage, or do you have other information to corroborate her birth year as 1902-1903?

Thanks for the info No I have no proof of where she was born but I did find a gravesite for a Mary McGrane 1902-1990 Bridge-A-Chrinn Cemetery Co Louth but I’m not sure Also unsure of what area James was born or lived in I’ll try to find more details but thank you for yr info I appreciate it

Quite so. Mary McGrane 1902-1990 Bridge-A-Chrinn Cemetery Co Louth was not born in Drogheda but was married to Dominick Mc Grane, WW1 veteran who died in 1956. I don't know where they got the 88 years in the newspaper. It is simply incorrect.

If you read the snippet, it is Mary McGrane who is 88 yrs old - ‘Aged 88 yrs she is survived by her daughters..’

Thank you I appreciate any help.I have a close match to Mary’s granddaughter Trying to connect with my Dad who was in a workhouse Thanks again 🇨🇦

I see, a DNA match? So you would be linked not only to Mary but also to Dominic. Do you think your relation was a sibling of Mary?
