Title: Lacashire Fusiliers 1944
Post by: Ravenhook on Friday 23 October 20 13:23 BST (UK)
Hi, I am trying to find my late Uncles Battalion and Company numbers for the Lancashire Fusiliers in 1944. I have his service number and know he was in India and Burma, he oddly changed from the Lancashire Fusiliers 18th May 1944 to the Green Howards...he didn't talk about his service so we don't know why he changed regiments..we believe he was at Kohima and was a stores-man first class.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Service records after 1920 are still with the MOD, maybe getting them would answer your questions.  :-\

This may help in providing information to you on the Regiment.

Thank you. I have a photo of the 1/8 at kohima and one of the soldiers looks very much like my late uncle and I would like to get it framed for my aunt before we lose her too as she has very little memories of his early life and he never talked about it only to lament that they were "The Forgotten Army".  :)
