Title: Edward de Lima Woods
Post by: Hyjean on Wednesday 14 October 20 10:21 BST (UK)
Edward de Lima Woods was born in Lisbon in 1815- his father -name unknown- may have been fighting in the Peninsular Wars. Have no leads at all. Edward later had a pawn shop in London and married Sarah Southcott Holesgrove. Have tried to find his parentage before.
What was Edward's father doing in Lisbon and his name? his mother?
Can anyone help please?
Cheers, Hyjean

Have you seen this tree on Ancestry? https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/3911776/person/182204815619/facts

The birthdate of 24 September 1814 comes his father George's will which leaves him money when he turns 21 on 24 September 1835.

Shaun J I am so grateful for that information.
I will now be able to proceed and find more hopefully on George Woods which was my objective.
You have made me a very happy person.
Thank you.
