				Hi!

I have recently been trying to track down relatives of my great aunt who emigrated to Fremantle in 1913. I've found the information regarding the passage and arrival in Fremantle and her marriage and possible child. Family memories are that she emigrated to Australia, married and had a child, dying in childbirth but unknown if child survived or not.

I found documents for the following:

Birth and Baptism of Constance Ruth Mary Wilmott 1889
Constance emigrated to Fremantle, Western Australia 1912
Marriage of Ernest C Stephens to Constance R M Wilmot 1913 in Fremantle
Death of Constance R M Stephens 1913 in Fremantle
Birth of Nora E A Stephens 1913 in Fremantle

All the dates and locations fit in with what was known, although dates of marriage and child were thought to be later.

I can't find any other details regarding Nora in WA or other territories, would it be possible child died as well as mother? Would this be documented?

Any info regarding Ernest Stephens or Nora Stephens would be amazing! I'm no expert and probably missing obvious opportunities.

 Many thanks
 Neil

 Thanks you!

At the time of his marriage and the death of his wife, Ernest Charles STEPHENS was an employee of J and W Bateman who were an old established firm of merchant shipowners in Western Australia.  The company had many different  arms.

I can find no further definite information about the man, but this may offer a hint.
 1914

The role of a man named E C STEPHENS at J and W Bateman is handed to another, as STEPHENS "returns to a seafaring life"

Great find! He seems to disappear and this could be why

				 :)

It would be interesting to know if there could be any significance attached to the choice of names for their daughter.
 Nora Emily Augusta.

It may help us find the family of Ernest Charles

Perhaps Jock could say whether any are family names connected to Constance Ruth Mary's side.

Her mother was Emeline Stevens 1865 - 1914, chance she went as Emily?
