I would be grateful if anyone could help find the marriage of my 4 x great grandparents, William WILSON & Margaret MCDOUGALD.
I know nothing about them except that they had three children baptised at the Chapel Street Presbyterian Chapel, Spittal, Berwick upon Tweed.
Eleanor WILSON (my 3 x great grandmother) in 1799
John WILSON 1801
Margaret WILSON 1804
They could, of course have been married over the border in Scotland.
Many thanks,
Kevin

I cannot find a marriage either in Scotland or England, I have checked the registers are on Ancestry for Spittal, Berwick upon Tweed but I do not see any marriages listed there.
I note the baptisms of the children you mention which record that William was a Porter, I also note that the first entry on the page of the first two baptisms there is a Daniel Wilson recorded as the father of a William. This might be a coincidence but when I checked the baptisms there are possible William’s below.
William Wilson Baptism 15 Mar 1776 Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England Daniel,Margaret
William Wilson Baptism 10 Apr 1770 Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England William,Mary
William Wilson Baptism 16 Aug 1770 Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England Jacob,Hannah
No Margaret there or elsewhere in England on the Non-Conformist Registers.
There are a number of MCDOUGAL’S In Berwickshire and the Borders of Scotland, the only one with the spelling MacDougald below.
MACDOUGALD MARGARET WILLIAM MACDOUGALD/JANET TAYLOR 10/08/1777 Kelso

Hi Colin,
Thank you very much for taking time to look at this.
I have searched where I can online, but not been able to find a marriage either. I am hoping that somewhere there may be a record that has not yet been digitised. I too have been wondering whether Margaret's surname was McDougall rather than McDougald and Wilson (like my Scott family) is a very common surname in Northumberland.
One day hopefully, I may get to visit the Northumberland archives again, but they are quite a drive from Suffolk!
Regards,
Kevin
