Hi
I am wondering and would be grateful if anyone could kindly do a look up for me in the 1919 Belfast Street Directory against the following address: 162 Cupar Street please?
Many thanks

Just to note, I was looking at your other topic about Henry Carney born c. 1920 and found the address 162 Cupar Street on the army pension index card for his father Henry Carney. A search on that address also brought back an attestation for a William Scanlon who signed up for the Ulster Division Train A.S.C. in January 1915. He stated that 162 Cupar Street was his address and that he was a moulder by way of occupation. He stated that he married his wife Agnes Ogilvie in 1909, here is the marriage:

So clearly William Scanlon and Henry Carney married two 'Ogilvie' sisters and it's a fair bet that the 1918 street directory entry mentioned above was a mistake and should have read 'Scanlon' rather than 'Scullion'.

I did not know that about Scanlon either! How wonderful!!! Thank you!!!

The 1920 is on Findmypast. The OCR used is not that great and one can only name search but one can sort off do a browse of the pages by adjusting the web address once one goes forward or back a page from the initially selected/found name & image - if wanting to look at particular streets.
Can see a list of the included directories if click the Periodical link on the search screen.

The Valuation Revision Books online (PRONI) might be worth looking at for that address-

there are now name indexed on Ancestry and I find easier to just browse there too as get full sized images and just go back or forward, additionally seem to be free as I can access any my sub expired two weeks ago.
