Title: Jeanette Clark Scott
Post by: VelkyAl on Tuesday 15 September 20 14:56 BST (UK)
My mother recently got DNA results that have thrown up the possibility of distant cousins in Nebraska, descended from one Jeanette Clark Scott.

Jeanette is apparently the sister of my great great grandfather, William Watt Scott, born in Tyrie Mains in 1838.

Problem is, I can't find any record of her. Can anyone help?

If she is William Watt Scott's sister then her parents were William Scott (1811-1883) and Janet Watt (1810-1882).

Don't see any census records for a Jeanette Clark Scott with your G G Grandfather's family

Lots of trees on Ancestry have a Jannette Clark Scott born 1837 Kircudbright Scotland
Father William Gordon Scott Mother Jane Janette McDowell

This lady Jeanette Clark Scott died 1918 Nebraska

So definitely not the daughter of William & Janet.

The info in Rosie's reply #1 suggests a different family
