Hi Everyone, just wondering if you can help me date the photo and age of the sitter please.  Many thanks.

I would estimate her age to be around 30 years, give or take a few

I can see similar hairstyles and fashion in photos from the 1880s, but really not sure

I was thinking quite a lot older than that, nearer to 50 but her hair looks dark so I may be being unfair to her.

I would suggest a date of early 1890s and guess her age to be in her 40s

I agree with Carol - early 1890s before the sleeve puffs got large.  Also think she might be in her early 40s. She doesn't seem to have many facial lines.

Looks similar to the kick-up sleeve of the early 90's but she's wearing a pigeon-breast blouse.
Early 1900's to around 1908.

My great grandmother was born 1851 and died in 1906 - wonder if it is her?

That would put her in her 50's when this was taken & she doesn't
look that old to me.

If the photo is 1890's  it would put her in her forties?

But this wasn't taken in the 1890's.
The style of blouse she's wearing didn't exist until the 1900's.

To help you here is one of my family images.

The boy sat on the ground is my Grandfather who was born in 1884, the girl next to him b1881 and LtoR standing 1879, 1873 and 1877.

I put this image about 1896 as I put my Grandfather at about 12 and George who is standing married in July 1897 and went to live near London.

Hence the fashions mid Nineties were very different to your image

This image was also taken in Bradford as was the family gathering I use as my icon.

Another to help out

Great Uncle and Aunt and their two girls Dad George b1873 & Mum Emma b1870

Older girl b1900 and younger b1907

Hence image date to me is c1918 and certainly no later than early 1923 as George passed away in July that year.

Oh does this image make me feel old as I met the Girls for the one and only time in 1967
