Title: Help needed with some marriage details
Post by: Kanga on Monday 31 August 20 20:04 BST (UK)

I purchased two marriage transcripts but some of the information appears to be missing, and any help with the following would be appreciated.

(A)   Marriage: Sarah Grace and Richard Barret, 6 August 1782, St James Church, Poole, Dorset.

Would like to know:

1.   If Sarah was a spinster or widow and Richard a bachelor or widower.
2.   The parish Sarah and Richard were living in at time of marriage (not listed for either of them
        on the transcript).
3.   Did Sarah, Richard, and witnesses sign the register or sign with the mark X.

(B)   Marriage: Wm (William) James married Mary Holloway, 16 October 1786, St James Church,
        Poole, Dorset.

1.   The transcript lists the Groom’s and Bride’s Parish as sojourner (which means a temporary
resident). Would like to know if the word sojourner was written on the Marriage Register as
        their Parish.
2.   Did William, Mary, and witnesses sign the register or sign with the mark X.

(C)   Marriage: Mary Mead married John Reeks, 5 November 1786, St James Church, Poole, Dorset.
1.   Would like to know who the witnesses to the marriage were.
