Title: Gilpin - Trice marriage
Post by: shearg on Sunday 30 August 20 19:41 BST (UK)
Hi all,
I found the marriage I was looking for between
Albany John GILPIN & Winifred Freda TRICE happening in Chatham in the March Qtr. Of 1944. 2a - page 2285,

Would these records still be in the Parish Church.

I’m trying to find Albany’s father’s name & hoping although he was deceased it would still be on the marriage certificate.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me or tell me where I should be looking for this info.

To look up a marriage - you have to know which church it took place in.  It may have been a civil marriage which can’t be looked up

His birth is on freebmd 1913 Newton Abbott showing his mmn as Pitts and there is a Gilpin/Pitts marriage in 1899 in the same RD

Thanks Carole , so Chatham would be the District & not the parish church.

If they married in a C of E church you should find it on Medway Cityark.  You will have to browse the images for each parish.

https://cityark.medway.gov.uk

click on parish registers

Having looked again, I don't think they have anything that recent online.
