If it is the same man, there is a HA Millard appearing 1930-1932 on the Britain Trade Union Membership Registers in Bristol within the Amalgamated Society of Lithographic Printers (FindMyPast)

-
Have you located him on 1939.it will show there is he is married or not,

 Louisa Maud
-
I have not located him, my aunt gave me his address in 1939

-
Tantalisingly there is a listing on Ancestry for Horace Alfred Millard within the London, England Church of England Marriages and Banns.

However, the entry shows no more than his name and gender - no date, no potential spouse, nothing.

-
I have not located him, my aunt gave me his address in 1939

And this was 17 Leinster Mews, as you say?
-
I will agree he did live in Leinster Mews but we cannot divulge 1939 listings

There is a marriage Sept 1923
 Horace Millard
 to
 Edith M Hurst
 Pancras

or was she also known as Marie E Millard after marriage?, was he also a chauffer/mechanic?

 Louisa Maud
-
I have not found a marriage for him but it fits in ;)

If we're thinking his parents are Alfred William Millard and Margaret Elizabeth Screech then this appears to be the family:

Address on leaving was 23 Craven Hill W2 but coming back 17 Leinster Mews.

On the 1947 electoral register entry there's a Margaret Ambrosina Hickson at the same address as Horace and Maria.

Margaret appears to be the same Margaret/Margherita that married Reginald Frank Hickson in 1939 and then re-married in 1946 to a Walter G Manners, Reginald having died in WWII in Singapore. Margaret appears to have been born in 1915, so if she's a daughter of Horace and Maria you're likely looking for a marriage before then.

 GRO references:
 1939 Q2 Marriage: Reginald F Hickson & Margherita A Millard; Paddington; vol 1a; page 38
 1946 Q2 Marriage: Walter G Manners & Margaret A Hickson; Westminster; vol 1a; page 1205
 1997 Q4 Death: Walter George Manners; age 86 (born c1911); St Albans (5351a); A47C; 170
 2011 Q1 Death: Margaret Ambrosina Manners; age 96 (born c1915); Hertfordshire (538-1r); 504396471

(I'm not certain about Walter's death but it looks kinda right. The will could provide confirmation. And either marriage certificate could provide confirmation that Horace is Margaret's father.)

				Hi Muffin41
I did a bit of research on this family back in 2012 on behalf of a friend who is not a member of Rootschat. I'm fairly sure that you must share ancestors with her. Would you like me to give you her email address via a personal email (assuming that I can work out how to do it)
 Regards
 Spiderboy.

WOW, what an opportunity to help solve  some  of  the problems you have had.
