Does anyone know were I can find Anglican church baptisms records for the years 1850-1870 for Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage?
Thanks

Hi,
There are some available at Ancestry, if you can't access them let me know and I'll look for you.

Could you see if there is a birth/baptism/newspaper or anything for Blanche Seymour Dallas born possibly 27 April 1885. Probably Kimberley. Her father Seymour Dallas worked in the Gold Mines and other occupations there.

The Diocese of PE did not allow familysearch to photograph their records so you may need to contact them directly for details. The collections on familysearch come from the Cullen Library at Witwatersrand University - they hold most of the Anglican Archival Records.

Thanks Daisy
Thanks Gillian, I have looked at Cullen Library on line there is nothing for PE an Uitenhage. Ancestry also has nothing.
Will have to contact the Diocese of PE or Cullen Library
Thanks again

Hi Karytay
The Eastern Cape Anglican Church records are held at the Cory Library in Grahamstown as well records for the Methodist, Baptist, Congretional and Catholic Churches. I don't think any of these records are online other than some records that may have been transcribed.
The link below will take you to the Rhodes University Genealogical Section, but unfortunately it seems that you will have either visit the University personally or find a researcher to obtain the records you are looking for.
