Hi There
I have a letter dated 1943 where it states that "My father was born in Wales and somewhere near a town the name of which I cannot spell - it is pronounced Langelly" I am finding it difficult to locate...does anyone know which county it might be in? This would have been in the 1850-1860 time frame.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Possibly Llanelli in South Wales.

Is there a way to check to see if there were any Skerratts living in South Wales between 1850-1870?
Thanks

Also a marriage in Gresford, Denbighshire, (not South) Wales 31 Jan 1853 for Thomas Skerratt, gardener, of Knutsford, Cheshire and Margaret Thomas of Llay. One of the witnesses is George Skerratt. This Thomas would appear to be illegitimate as his father has a different surname, Dumville, looks like.
