Hello, Attached is a photo of my Grandad (looking at the photo the one on the right) taken in Calcutta during 1898. As you can detect he is with 2 other fellow soldiers at the graveside of a fallen comrade. They are all dressed in the uniform of the 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. He is 3888 Pte Albert Fox. A precious photo. Is there anybody who could please add colour? Thanks in anticipation.

Not the best work I've ever done, but here you go. I took the uniform colors from a page about the Gloucestershire Regiment I found online, but no guarantees as to accuracy. I made it a bit smaller, too. ;D

Absolutely excellent. The first time I have seen the colour of my Grandad's cheeks!!!! Thank so much.

Couldn't improve on the previous post ... tried for 10 minutes to remove 'cracks' and my cat told me to stop and concentrate on Albert's heid ...

odd colouring - I'm blaming my cat - he's annoying me, won't get off my computer and go out, 'cos it's raining, the wimp.

Thanks to you all for your outstanding efforts. 122yrs this photo has been in the family and always in Black and White. Colour added certainly a new exciting dimension!!!! I have another b/w photo of Grandad Albert. 20yrs later with wife and up to then their children. Is there a limit of photos I can submit? Thanks.

There is no limit to the number of photos you can submit, the more the merrier. Please make a different post for each photo, it makes things easier for us,
Pat.
