Title: Death in San Mateo Ca
Post by: slainsview on Wednesday 12 August 20 21:41 BST (UK)

I have traced an ancestor who I think died in Ca. His name is Primo Bonzani of Italian descent who came to the States after his wife died just weeks after they were married in Aberdeen in 1913.
I think he died in 1928/29 in San Mateo.

He was born in Sarano Masachesi and his father was Vincenzo Bonzani.

Can anyone help please.

Many years ago I visited my cousin in your beautiful state and I have fond memories of San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.
Thank you for any help you can give me

From the Internet

The Bonzani family name was found in the USA in 1920. In 1920 there were 6 Bonzani families living in California. This was about 55% of all the recorded Bonzani's in the USA. California had the highest population of Bonzani families in 1920.

this came up in a search and is free to access:
https://www.ancestry.ca/genealogy/records/aristedemo-bonzani-24-11p40pr

It says the same things you say about Primo. But no sources for his death. Their birth year for Aristedemo is wrong.

Another tree at ancestry says Primo Bonzani was born 11 November 1881, but the tree is private.

There is a California death index that covers that time frame here - https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1932433  I don't see any Primo Bonzanis, but there are other Bonzanis who died around then.

Hi thanks for taking time to prepare that

Slains view was looking for aristodemo bonzani rather than primo

Although I can add primo and pietro who were recorded in Peterhead in the census - were from the same place as aristodemo was 100 percent born , varano marcahesi  medesano ,Parma in 1881

Aristodemos parents were Vincenzo bonzani and Rosalia torpilli

I would love to find what happened to aristodemo after his wife’s death in 1913 and if he had any siblings

Perhaps primo and pietro were relatives/siblings ?

They've just changed the website and it's much harder for me to find my way around. I can't find the archivio di stato di Emilio-Romagna, which with the new place details you have supplied, is where any records should be. I assume this means they are not online.
