This is my grandfather Eugene Daly, photo was taken approx. 1920 in Egypt, He is in the Royal Munster fusiliers, medal ribbons appear to be 1st world trio.
Can anyone assist with colouring this photo please?

Can you tell us what colours are in the medal strip ?

just a portrait in colour

Wow, you have all certainly brought that picture to life, I think the correct colour for the uniform was the light Khaki, sorry my fault, I should have checked before posting.
Thanks to you all, didn't realise that this sort of upgrade to photos could be done.
-
I've changed the colour of his uniform, do hope this is nearer for you.

Yes, that's the colour, I found it quite a challenge obtaining a colour photo of a uniform of that time, I found a pith helmet, which I assume would be the same colour, thank you again for your time and interest, its actually so good that I am putting another B/W family picture on in the hope that I can get a similar result.

coloured version

Thanks again, amazing!

One colour. I've made him a bit redder than normal to indicate that he is in Egypt.
I can desaturate if you wish. Thanks Jack TT for the medal ribbon. Saved me time. :D :D

And a B&W for fun
-
Thank you, that b/w shot has really brought him to life, he certainly got a suntan in Egypt!

Hello
One other request please!
Can anything be done with this photo of Eugene Daly, its gotten damaged over the years.
The photo must have been taken post 1918 as he was wounded in the closing weeks of the war and spent some time in hospital. I notice that he is wearing the medal ribbons so, (assume ) it must be 1919plus.
His uniform is the Munster Fusiliers and it was taken in UK or Ireland.

Jack, always open a new topic for a new request otherwise people will not
see your new pic, thinking that they have already looked at the topic..
-
Ok, thanks for that advice, I will open another topic for Eugene
regards
-
I've got something waiting. I'll explain on the new topic
::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D

adding a heid was easy, bit of work required sorting the uniform and cap ... but it's raining, so no gardening today
-
Thanks so far!, I think the uniform was standard British army colours for that time.
