Title: Parents of Henry Berry, 16G grandfather.
Post by: gcstuart on Wednesday 12 August 20 00:08 BST (UK)
Henry Berry (1519-?) married Elizabeth Berry (maiden name unknown, 1521-?) and had a son named George Berry (1541-?).

George was born in Yorkshire (town unknown) and married a woman named Elizabeth Berry (née Parker, 1541-?) and had a son named Thomas Berry (?-?)

Thomas Berry married Susannah Berry (née Crewley, ?-?) and had Thaddeous John Berry (1584-1622).

I have gotten my information on Thaddeous mostly from MyHeritage, though looking back at where I found him I actually found the birth dates of his parents.

Thomas Berry - b. Feb 1561 in Woldale, Yorkshire.
Susannah - b. 1566 in Frome, Somerset.

Sorry, I don't have access to My heritage does it state where in Yorkshire he was baptised.

Is this information from parish registers or someones online tree.  Have you found a baptism for Susanna in Frome.

I have just googled 'Thaddeous John Berry My Heritage' and got this link which would concern me if it was my tree as it appears to link in places to the information you have but does not appear to have any sources to the information. The surname also differs

I too would be suspicious of the info you found on a tree. The Gazetteer on Yorkshire Genuki  does not recognise Woldale as a Yorkshire place name/location and a google search brought up a reference to a place in a work of fiction, believed to be based on a place in Lincolnshire, not Yorkshire. There are people named Berry in East Yorkshire (a couple married into one of my lines) but they were around in the 1800's and theories on their pedigrees can be checked in civil registration, parish registers, and other recognised primary source documents. How far back along the line have you got by using primary sources as evidence?

Ancestry has West Yorkshire records, and FindMyPast have the BT's for the whole of Yorkshire.

There is no entry for Thaddeous Berry around 1584.  Nor John Berry.

I too would be suspicious of the info you found on a tree. The Gazetteer on Yorkshire Genuki  does not recognise Woldale as a Yorkshire place name/location

For the record, there is a place Wooldale, a small village near Holmfirth , in the Huddersfield area.
