Title: Are this couple the same people in both photographs?

Hi
I have been puzzling over these two ancestors of mine for years. I am not sure who they are, but could they be the same couple in both photographs? The clues seem to be = 1. They are both taken in the garden. 2. They are in a similar pose. 3 She is wearing a velvet dress - could it be the same one, but altered? 4. He has a three piece suit. 5. They are from the same photographer = no name, but a green edge to the pics.
I would very much appreciate other peoples views. Thank you from Quester

I have my doubts, the first one is mid-late 1890s and the second one I would say was Edwardian. It is always best to post the original photo including the backs as restoring and colouring can result in the details being altered.

            I'm not sure but I don't think so. The shape of the ladies faces are too dissimilar

I don't think so either. The jaw line and eyes of the ladies are different.

 I am very grateful for your advice and I do think you are all correct. I am sorry that I did not use the black & white originals, but they were so dark that I thought it would be more difficult to tell. Best wishes from Quester.

The ladies are definitely not the same, but there is a possibility that the men could be the same or closely related ?

Looking at them in Ian's mugshots, the young man looks like he could be the older couples's Son.

I don't think they are the same people at all. None of the faces match up .

I agree with the others - I can’t see any similarities whatsoever between these couples.  :)
