This is a photograph of my grandfather that I have recently inherited following the death of a cousin.
Harry joined the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry in 1896 but transferred to the Hampshire Regiment in 1903. He landed from HMS Clyde during the Gallipoli campaign and after being posted missing believed dead was found on the beach alive with bullet wounds.
i would be grateful for any improvement.
Thank you so much, Helen McClintock

If you wish to read about Gallipoli and what the soldiers and sailors had to endure I would recommend the book Gallipoli by Peter Hart.

Thank you all so much. You have greatly improved what was a badly damaged photo. Unfortunately this old family photo does have rather strange dimensions and was therefore difficult to keep in good condition.
i don't know how you do it but I'm so glad that you can! Thank you all.

I have a quick question for anyone on this site.
I have not been on rootschat for sometime. But the last time which was last year and today, I find that my family photo has not been allowed to be shown. They are my photos and I was wondering who I might ask for any help.
Thanks.

Hi Carole, Lovely to hear from you again, it would be best if you started a new post, but if you look at the bottom of your post today at 21.49 you will see a link 'Report to Moderator' I think it would be a good idea to contact them about your problem.

Hi Andy
thank you very much for enhancing my photo - my what an improvement! I only knew him as an old man of course and didn't realise what a good looker he was.....(although I expect the photographer played his part..)
thanks again, Helen
