Hello All,

I wonder if anyone might be able to help me please?
John Dudley, a butcher of Dudley, married to Eliza Barton at St Thomas Church, Dudley in 1844 & his marriage details show that his father's name was Joseph Dudley who was an innkeeper.
Does anyone have the knowledge in order to discover which inns Joseph Dudley may have run in the Dudley area please?
Any help would be much appreciated.

There is a Joseph, 43 yrs, Publican, in Salop Street
1841 1196/47/43

I don’t know if he is yours but the one in 1841 had a William 14 yrs with him so this one fits with possible new marriage?

1851 2032/65/57

Joseph Dudley, 52 yrs b Dudley with wife Elizabeth and several children.
He is a a victualler (Somers Arms) - address Shavers End.

1861 has a Joseph 62 widower licenced victualler, not sure of the address - Shavers End?

Unfortunately name of the pub not mentioned  :(

Probate entry for Joseph of Shavers End licenced victualler died 26 Dec 1864.

On JOHN Dudleys Bapt 06 Apr 1823, St Thomas, Dudley, Worcestershire his Father is a Cordwainer.
Parents of John are JOSEPH/LEAH

Trade directory entry for a Joseph Dudley from 1849 has Odd Fellows Arms Salop Street which would tie in with the 1841 census entry heywood found.

This marriage looks possible for Joseph and Elizabeth (daughter Julia has mmn Pitt)
