Hi
I have found an obituary online in the newspaper archives. From the Ripley and Heanor News that has a photo of a relative but the way it has been scanned is too dark to make anything out. Does anybody know if there is any way to see the original copy that has not been scanned and uploaded?
The article is regarding Mrs George Severn, in the Ripley and Heanor News and Ilkeston Division Free Press 04 October 1935
Thanks

Newspaper still seems to be in existence, no idea if they keep back copies but worth asking them?

If email doesn't work, there are phone numbers on that page - shy bairns get nowt and its worth the cost of the call.
Only other place I can think of would be the British Library newspaper holdings - no idea if they'd be able to help but I imagine they are still closed at the mo.

I think your best bet would be Ripley or Heanor library when they reopen - I have looked up many things there but the photocopies very often are very dark - Matlock is another option

I got a reply, unfortunately they don’t have back copies that far back. Will have to try library.
