I am attempting to learn the circumstances of my Great Grandfather's death at Almwch hospital on 3 July 1883. I have the death certificate which describes a concussion of brain & apoplexy.
He was a Liverpool pilot and was probably preparing to bring a ship into the port of Liverpool. I am wondering if there was any newspaper or coroners report that recorded how he received the injury.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think he may have been struck on the head by a carriage of a tram in Liverpool, but there are people on the boards who will translate for you.

Can anyone help with Welsh translation

Hello stsyjumi,
There are many welsh speakers here, if it is connected to this topic just reply with the details. If it is a seperate topic you could post it under "wales" or the deciphering/translation section.
Regards

Translation
SUDDEN DEATH - Friday night last, Dr Roberts, Amlwch, was called on to go in a boat from Bull Bay to "Pilot Boat No 1", belonging to Liverpool, to one of the crew named Charles Jones, who was quite poorly. He had hit his head against a vehicle while descending from one of the Liverpool tramcars about a fortnight ago., but he didn't take a lot of notice of it for some days. Although feeling distressed/in pain he went with the ship to sea, the result of which was his becoming a lot worse. He refused to return home with some steamer that would pass them, but when Dr Roberts saw him, he saw the wretch was in a dangerous situation and ordered him to be taken ashore at once and taken in a vehicle to the Cottage Hospital, Amlwch where he died four hours after getting there, in spite of every effort of the doctors. Sympathy/condolences for his widow and six children. His mortal remains were taken by train to Liverpool Friday night "Therefore be ye also ready"** it is with people of the sea as on land.
Trust it make sense.
** A quote from Matthew 24 verse 44

Many thanks to all for the help in finding this article and the translation.
Charles Henry Jones was my Great Grandfather, his wife Annie died 6 months after his unfortunate accident and my grandfather, Charles son, was put into the Liverpool Seaman’s Orphanage which I visited earlier this year.

Is anyone aware if the Cottage Hospital, Amlwch is still standing? As seen in previous posts my great grandfather died their in 1883. I would be interested to know what remains of the hospital

Hi
Cottage hospital seems to have been built on a field given by Lady Dinorben
It's marked on this map

This one shows the area side by side with modern day but it's not named on the map

This one Google earth https://www.google.com/maps/@53.4114663,-4.3582433,149m/data=!3m1!1e3
Seems to have been builyt around 1871 and for info on patrons see

The Welsh article says he died last Wednesday night (Nos Fercher) and the Hospital was described as "Dinorben Cottage Hospital"
