I am hoping someone can check the parish records to see whether I have found the best "match" for the marriage of William MORRIS (1760 - 1841) who lived at Penllech farm, Y Bettws.
I have found a potential marriage on 11 May 1805 through Family Search - Gwenllian MORGAN - though it does not state where. I can't find a baptism record for Gwenllian MORGAN to confirm where she was born.
William and Gwenllian MORRIS are the parents of my direct ancestor, Jonah MORRIS and his sibs. I believe the family were non-conformists. I can't find baptism records for William or for Jonah either.
Gwenllian MORRIS died in 1866 aged 85 years. She is recorded in the censuses as a farmer, even when 82yrs in 1861 and born in Bettws.
And the other record on line of her that I have found is the chapel register where alongside her name Gwenllian MORRIS, Penllech is the comment that she could read (1807).
There is a 20 year age gap between William and Gwenllian MORRIS. I have been unable to find an earlier marriage for him - so maybe like their son David MORRIS, he decided to marry later in life??
Many thanks
