Post by: MoliJ on Monday 15 June 20 12:51 BST (UK)
I know there is a Greenhill Lane in Handsworth but was there an area of Handsworth in the late 1800’s called GreenHill? Thanks

I can't see an area called Green Hill, but around the area where Greenhill Rd is now there was Oxhill Farm and Wilkes Green Farm. You can see them on this 1890 map

There is however, a mention of a Joseph SMITH of Green Hill, Handsworth in "The Coal and Iron Trades of North Staffordshire", Saturday,  Dec. 13, 1862  (as a subscriber to the General Hospital)

And a Mr Thomas Welch BARROWS of GreenHill House, Handsworth married Jane MURDOCK
Birmingham Gazette, Monday,  Apr. 23, 1860

And in 1863 GreenHill House was to Let - "near St. James Church, Handsworth"
Birminham Journal, Saturday,  Jan. 17, 1863
