I am seeking information on the SLY family living in the Enniscorthy area Wexford c 1800. 6 people of the Sly family claimed damages from the Government for damages incurred during the 1798 Rebellion at Enniscorthy. My ancestor, Mary Sly, married Jeremiah DONOVAN in Leinster in 1815.
I am assuming that the Sly family were protestant, as they supported the British.

Re marriage "in Leinster in 1815" from where did this information come, as Leinster is a province?

Putting the name Sly into different searches the results are all in the province of Leinster but well scattered.
You can try a few here https://genealogy.nationalarchives.ie/

Thank you for the reply. I shall keep looking.
I originally found reference to the Donovan/Sly marriage in Family Search- 1815 Diocese of Ossory, Leinster, Ireland . I don't seem to be now able to replicate that search. I now realize that the area may have been in Kilkenny and perhaps I am looking in the wrong places. I had thought that the Kilkenny area was not far from Wexford. I am still struggling to differentiate the different Townlands and Counties etc.

Hello again
I just found the reference to the marriage of Jeremiah Donovan and Mary Sly in the Ireland, Diocesan and Prerogative Marriage License Bonds Indexes, 1623-1866 from National Archives of Ireland in Family Search.
