Title: Mary Dyer - Born c.1855 Waterford?, Ireland

Hi I was just wondering if someone is able to help me with my relative - Mary Dyer. She was born in about 1855, probably Waterford, Ireland and immigrated to New Zealand (not sure when). She married John Mace on the 7th of September 1875 in Otago. The family lived in Cardrona (8 children). If someone is able to help me find her immigration record, it would much appreciated. She possibly immigrated to Australia first and then to New Zealand but I really am not sure. Her middle name was Catherine but it is not used on many records. Mary passed away on 6 Jan 1937 in Wellington.

Hello Michael,

What does her death registration say about "years in New Zealand"? Not necessarily accurate but can be a guide.

Hi,

Does her death certificate give her parents names or place of birth?

Any clues provided in the birth certificates of any of the children?

I would look for her arrival at Port Chalmers, then Bluff, then Christchurch.

Thanks a lot Minniehaha, Janette, Maiden Stone, Spades. I haven't seen Mary's death or marriage records, or the birth records of her children - I think other relatives might have bought them and just written down the information which is how I've gotten them. I'll definitely look into it!

Why do you think Mary DYER might have been in Australia.

If there are documents for BDM events for the DYER - MACE family you need to get a photocopy from your relatives who are also researching this family.

Do not just ask for information from the documents......you need to see all the information yourself, and be able to give the details to a forum.
