Hi Kay - could go with Easdon Hill except for what looks like p and an e between the words. But the area would fit

Thanks everyone

...and just to the right of Earsdon Hill are Peigh Hills and Peighhills Wood. However that might be pronounced! Could well end up as something like whatever has been written in the entry here.

Best regards,
Karen

It could well be a shortened Peigh Hills (farm)after Earsdon

Thanks to you all, think the Earsdon Peigh Hill looks likely

Cheers and many thanks for racking your brains

It could be Earsdon, North Shields.  I've had a number of family members with this address.

It reads as Easdon pihiles, which I think is most likely a phonetic rendering of Earsdon Peigh Hill as suggested earlier in the thread.

That's the 'other' Earsdon! There are two Earsdons in Northumberland, and the one where Peigh Hills is located is some 10 miles north of Morpeth in the Parish of Hebron.
